Shadow drawing
Week 1: We spent week 1 chasing the sunshine… or rather shadows with our pens!! Starting off in the studio with spot lights set up, we moved outside as the day got brighter and the sun started to shine. The children were encouraged to draw the shadows cast by plants from the garden, or by any objects they could find – some even built little sculptures. At times it was tricky, as their own shadow often got in the way, or as the breeze blew it really was a case of chasing and catching the shadows. Lovely patterns and marks made.
