Paper + Sketchbooks

I have great fun working on paper and these pieces are often where a lot of new ideas and experiments start. When my head is filled with new inspiration – I feel I can be bold and brave on paper! These pieces tend to be quite small scale and are perfect for taking along to makers’ markets and pop-ups.

Most of the work on this page are mixed media paintings and watercolour studies on paper  – these are all finished in simple white frames. More examples can be found in my Etsy shop.

I have also made a little video of my sketchbook process so you can get a sense of what goes on behind the scences! Most of my sketching takes place outside – ‘en plein air’ – but I also make quick sketches in the studio to help me work through ideas and plan larger works.
